ACWF Holds Gathering to Celebrate CPC Centenary

The All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) held a gathering in Beijing prior to July 1, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
Huang Xiaowei, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and Vice-President and First Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, spoke at the gathering.
Huang emphasized that the ACWF should take the lead in grasping and applying Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, draw strength from the Party history, sustain its revolutionary legacy, carry forward the women's federations' traditions of responding to the Party's call, strengthen guiding, serving and contacting women, and unite and guide women to make greater contributions to building a modern socialist country in all respects, and realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

During the gathering, commemorative medals were awarded to those who have been Party members for 50 years or more. Medals and certificates were awarded to collectives and individuals who won honors from the Central Party and government departments. The ACWF commended its outstanding Party members, exemplary Party workers, advanced primary-level Party organizations and the youth pacesetters in learning Party theories.
The new Party members took the Party admission oath and the participating Party members reviewed the oath at the event.
Xu Manqin, a 95-year-old Party member with 71 years Party standing, said that joining the Party has been the greatest blessing in her life, and she will always remember this identity and make continued efforts towards the construction of the motherland and towards national rejuvenation.
Nine representatives of the awarded role models spoke at the gathering. They said that they will study and apply the Party's innovative theories, inherit revolutionary traditions, play their exemplary roles, and make more contributions towards promoting the development of women and children's causes and the women's federation's work.

Zhang Xiaolan, Member of the Leading Party Members' Group and Vice-President and Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, presided over the meeting. Wu Haiying and Cai Shumin, vice-presidents and members of the Secretariat of the ACWF, announced the commendation decisions.
